If you have seen bai&by\u2019s new advert, maybe the slogan The Neuronal Reevolution<\/em> has caught your attention. But\u2026 what exactly do we mean? What\u2019s behind this ad? Why do we refer to it as Re-evolution<\/em>? What has been so far the trajectory of bai&by, and which are its plans for the future? What is Neuronal DDK<\/em>?<\/p><\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\nThroughout this blog post we are going to give you all the details of the Neuronal DDK<\/em>, and while we are at it, we shall also explain the intricacies of the project behind The Neuronal Reevolution<\/em>, so that you can understand the solid technological pillars and pedagogical projects that are the core of the marketing campaign.<\/p>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\nIn the early 1980s, a group of teachers, who forged their way in the promotion of the Basque language and culture for adults, by vocation and pedagogical instinct, created the DIDAKTIKER project in 1991 to address the failure of learning second languages, based on the following diagnosis: the main problem is that most adults find it difficult to structure and organize the information received, and this creates a weak basis that makes it difficult to advance in the learning process.<\/p>\nSince its inception, DIDAKTIKER has carried out several pioneering R&D developments: DDK System, TeleExpert, EMTR, e-Agents, c-Extractor, LangMind, EVIE2<\/em>… The accumulation of both technological and pedagogical knowledge has created <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baiby.com\/en\/the-intelligent-system\/\">the only intelligent learning platform for languages in the market<\/a>, combining the latest advances in technology, pedagogy and neurolinguistics.<\/p>\nThe companies that constituted the project merged into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baiby.com\/es\/fundacion\/\">bai&by Foundation<\/a> in 2007.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Neuronal DDK<\/em>?<\/h2>\nNeuronal DDK<\/em> is the outcome of a 40 year long didactic-pedagogical journey, a pioneering project in its maturity.<\/p>\nIt is more than just a languages learning application<\/strong>, it is an entire platform dedicated to teaching and learning languages. It addresses the needs of the training service: online teaching and learning, diagnosis, evaluation, management applications, e-portfolio, platform for conversation classes…<\/p>\nWith our newly developed LangMind<\/em> research project, we’ve equipped the intelligent DDK System<\/em> with linguistic intelligence and developed the DDK Linguistic<\/em> technology. By means of different technologies, it creates the linguistic footprint of each student as they progress in their very own learning process.<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/q3pABPqPdU0?si=yPIFUOX3L_rnxw8K\" width=\"100%\" height=\"415\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\nThese are the databases that the new DDK Neuronal<\/em> project will be utilizing<\/strong> to eventually achieve a paradigm shift, calculating student profiles, components, effort… and using both mathematical analysis and neuronal network technologies:<\/p>\nStudents will be able to study when and where they wish. They shall have their own itinerary according to their knowledge and qualities.<\/p>\nNeuronal DDK will design specific strategies to complete the linguistic footprints of students, by means of Artificial Intelligence and mathematical modelling<\/strong>. Implementing all these strategies it shall succeed in making forecasts, analysing profiles, students\u2019 needs and progress.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11888\" src=\"https:\/\/www.baiby.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/ddk-neuronal.jpg\" alt=\"DDK Neuronalak, estrategia zehatzak diseinatuko ditu, ikasleen aztarna linguistikoak osatzeko\" width=\"1024\" height=\"614\" \/><\/p>\nThere will be a neuronal corrector in the background. In addition, it integrates the speech corrector, employing STT technology (Speech-to-Text<\/em>) in sections for speech training. \nAnd there will also be the development of the phonetic knowledge of the voice for automatic prosody analysis.<\/p>\nThe new platform has been designed to run each target language from multiple starting languages. For example, English from Spanish, Basque, French, Italian… Or Euskera from Spanish, French, English…<\/p>\n<h3>Neuronal DDK<\/em>: Platform (application for studying online)<\/h3>\nThe web application that we’re developing has more than 70 modules to complete the learning process to work on the language as a whole: 4 language skills, micro-situations, grammar, incorrect-correct, dictation modules, didactic games, evaluation tools, e-portfolio, configuration module…<\/p>\n<h3>Which are the improvements we foresee?<\/h3>\nFor many years bai&by has been the only intelligent language-learning system in the market, and it has been a pioneer in the application of neuro-linguistics and artificial intelligence: DDK intelligent system, automatic labelling, voice phonetic recognition…<\/p>\nDDK Neuronal<\/em> will bring The re-evolution<\/em> to online teaching with several improvements:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Obtain specific student profiles<\/strong>: learning style, memory capacity, ease… As a result it will be possible to fully personalize the learning process as well as make forecasts. For instance, the success a student is bound to have when studying certain new content.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on the aforementioned profiles and making use of each student\u2019s personal language footprint, the system will decide if the content has been comprehended and new content should be shown to the student, hence notably shortening the learning process<\/strong> (we foresee that the learning process will be reduced in more than 20%).<\/li>\n<li>It will set the path for automatic correction of the student’s own productions<\/strong> (namely writing and speaking) by creating neuronal correctors.<\/li>\n<li>The student’s pronunciation and prosody will be improved<\/strong>, providing the voice’s phonetic knowledge with automatic prosody analysis.<\/li>\n<li>The possibility to interact orally with the computer through the application.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>With the data that shall be achieved examining the linguistic footprints created by the LangMind project utilising AI technology<\/strong>, new learning paths will be opened for both neurolinguistics and studies of a second language.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Neuronal DDK<\/em> development partnerships<\/h2>\nThis project involves several interdisciplinary teams, each contributing to its specific area: DIDAKTIKER’s research team, bai&by’s didactics-team, Crisis Creativa, Zorraquino, three technology centres in the Basque Country: Elhuyar, Vicomtech, BCAM…<\/p>\nAs you can see, there is yet a big task ahead of us, but we shall go for the Neuronal DDK project with the same passion we had 25 years ago when we built the bai&by project.<\/p>\nTo help you successfully complete your learning process, you will be accompanied by the most advanced technology and a powerful team.
