Skills at English B1 level
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is a standard developed by the European Union to assess and measure language ability on a scale of six levels: A1 (Breakthrough), A2 (Waystage), B1 (Threshold), B2 (Vantage), C1 (Advanced) and C2 (Mastery).
The CEFR is used to assess language proficiency in educational programs and in the workplace and provides a detailed description of the skills and abilities needed at each level.
Once you have completed English B1 level, you will be able to have conversations with people who have a similar linguistic level, as long as the topic is general and the objective is the exchange of information. In addition, at this level you will be able to give instructions to friends, family members, fellow students or workmates, as well as provide brief descriptions of objects and give brief accounts of events, express your opinion and communicate your intentions.
